Building A Virtual Real Estate Empire – Make It A Blog
Yesterday we talked about selecting a domain name for your Virtual Real Estate empire. I recommended that you get a themed generic domain name but you could select just a generic domain name and probably get just as good results. It’s your choice. You can review yesterdays post here: http://grownetprofits.com/how-to-start-building-a-virtual-real-estate-empire/
You should set up your VRE empire as a Wordpress blog. Why a blog you might ask? Here are a couple of reasons:
- You can have your website set up quickly
- Has a built in Content Management System
- Can grow as your needs grow
The easiest way to set up a Wordpress blog is to find a hosting account that has a cpanel and Fantastico. Fantastico makes it really easy to install and configure your Wordpress blog. You can install Wordpress manually but you probably don’t want to unless you are somewhat technical. I have a Baby Croc account at HostGator which costs less than $10 per month. This should give you everything that you need.
You are also going to need an FTP program to upload your Wordpress themes and plugins. The one that I use is FileZilla you can get it free from here: http://sourceforge.net/projects/filezilla
You can find out just about everything that you need to know about Wordpress here: http://wordpress.org/ - Do take some time to learn as much as you can about Wordpress.
Tomorrow we will discuss where to get the content for your Virtual Real Estate empire.
